I’m partial to this take on the event:

Meet the “Shit Queen of Burning Man,” Commander of 1,400 Porta-Potties

I see less “Revolution” and more “Allowed Cathartic Festival”. As a great place to go, have fun, exchange ideas, and generally network with a wide variety of people, sure , it’s fine. As a “Revolution”, though? No…No, I don’t think so.

  3. Sure it’s a “gift economy” that is put together with millions of dollars worth of purchases from walmarts and costco around the continent. Oh..and the desert is just a wasteland and not one of the most fragile Eco systems on the planet…right? “The art was amazing though.”.

Burning man has also received press in the last year or two for becoming a millionaire tech company CEO networking event. Gentrification is always on the march.

  5. I guess Luke drank the Kool-Aid 😉
