When Alan Moore was nearing his 40th birthday, he decided he wanted to start practicing magick and publicly declare himself a magickian. There was a problem with this plan however, which involved the fact that there was already a famous comic book writer who was an openly practicing magickian. Alan Moore has a fairly high opinion of himself, so he didn’t want anyone thinking he was copying anyone and he knew the comparisons were inevitable.
So he made up this ridiculous story about how he hates Grant Morrison and always has. How could he even sort of be influenced by or copying someone he obviously hates right? At this point he’s sold this story so deeply into his own psyche that he’s completely forgotten where it even comes from and still shills it to this day. The end.
