I have a confession to make. Before I started writing for Disinfo about a year and a half ago, I wasn’t really familiar with James Randi. I’d heard his name come up a few times on the internet in comments threads regarding fringe spirituality, but that was about it. Much like Carl Sagan’s utterly retarded book The Demon Haunted World (which I make fun of here), I wasn’t super familiar with his M.O., but the more I delved into this stuff, the more I realized I was always going to have to deal with superstitious idiots referencing his “work”. So finally, a couple of weeks ago I decided to spend a minor amount of time on the interwebs actually digging into who this loser is and how he convinced a bunch of seemingly at least semi-intelligent people to passionately raise their pitchforks at anyone insinuating the legitimacy of psi.… Read the rest

Some might recall that last year I wrote a piece about 3rd, 4th, and 5th dimensional timespace perception based on various visionary experiences I’ve had throughout the years. All consciousness is part of a continuum and I’m quite sure I wouldn’t have had these sorts of experiences without the writings of people like Robert Monroe, Terrence McKenna, Robert Anton Wilson, and Grant Morrison forever stretching the parameters of my linguistic operating system. And that’s the main reason I put this sort of fringe weirdness on the internets – to directly influence the psychic hive mind grid of humanity and potentially create exotic experience in the reader. Anyway, apparently it works because I got a message on Facebook (friend me) from a dude named Andrew Cary linking me to this rather brilliant piece he wrote, partially inspired by my theories on dimensional perception. What I love about this is whereas what I do is essentially translating mystical concepts for a generation of kids raised on crap like VICE and stoner comedy, he takes a vastly more scientific approach.… Read the rest
If you’ve ever wondered why I keep mentioning Robert Anton Wilson on this site (other than the fact that Disinfo put out his Maybe Logic DVD), it has to do with me accidentally summoning my Holy Guardian Angel back in 2010 and the first telepathic words out of its mind being “We Are the Beings From the Sirius Star System who were communicating with Robert Anton Wilson!” No, really. It’s a long story that I’ve written about before but I don’t think I’ve ever actually talked about publically, which I do in this podcast if you’re curious.
Anyway, after that happened I wrote a book about my experiences with sex magick, then went back and re-read a bunch of Wilson, which is something I hadn’t actually done in years. Most amazingly, in doing so I realized that the book I had written (The Galactic Dialogue: Occult Initiations, out next month) was very much like the Occult sequel to Cosmic Trigger that Wilson never penned.… Read the rest
The thing about me being an Occultist is that I didn’t choose the Occult, the Occult chose me. It’s a long story and one you can hear me talk about in this podcast if you’re curious, but the reason I bring it up is that after being summoned into the practice it’s come to my attention that I have exactly nothing in common with the vast majority of freaks in the “Occult scene”. Because of this reality, I’ve started referring to what I do as Psychedelic Occultism (or Chaos Sorcery, or Transdimensional Psychology, or Enthneogenic Esotericism if you’re so inclined) to differentiate it from what these people are doing. It’s pretty important that I do this because lord, I wouldn’t want ANYONE to think that my practice is in any way similar to hyper-douchebags like say, EA Koetting, who I just stumbled on via the internets.
This fucking guy.… Read the rest
Well Disinfonauts, apparently my psychic life does requests. A week after addressing comments urging me to write more about how our leaders are creepy black hearted Occultists behind the scenes, I have this dream (From my Facebook Feed, Friend me):
May 18th, 2014 –
I’m in a college classroom and the teacher passes around a handout with a description of the next assignment. I haven’t really been paying a whole lot of attention to the lecture and I get the impression I’m bored out of my mind, but I scan through the document and see that it involves creating a psychic map of various goals and achievements you wish to accomplish in life and then spending time ritualistically envisioning them.
Create an inner map of the things you want to experience in your life, divide them into separate compartments of easily conjured thought, and then spend time understanding how they all tie together into one multi-faceted yet singular entity.… Read the rest
Hey Thad, where are the regularly scheduled rants that we’ve become accustomed to over the last year or so? Well, I decided several weeks back I should probably actually put the finishing touches on the book I wrote that’s coming out next month (if all goes right) and that maybe I should wrap that up before I spend more of my time ranting at y’all. They’ll be back here soon, and you know what else? Video rants all Lee Camp style. As far as I can tell, the problem with my writing is that no one reading it can tell how ridiculously good looking I am (riiiiight). I mean, how are gay dudes supposed to masturbate to an internet article? How are women supposed to make weird scrapbooks with hearts around me while jotting down the names of our future children? This needs to be resolved and so I’m buying a decent video camera here soon to do just that.… Read the rest
One of the coolest things I’ve stumbled upon while digging for found footage for my Occult film/music project Chapel Supremesus has been the instructional movies of Carroll “Poke” Runyan. Strangely, I thought I had actually seen all of them until one of my practicing magickian Facebook peeps (friend me) turned me on to this, which is by far the most intriguing of the lot. This is an absolute must watch for a couple of reasons. First off, as mentioned in the past, being from the Chaos Magick school of Occult weirdness, I’ve never actually tried any of the traditional invocation/evocation techniques that are being illuminated here. My methods are vastly different, but ultimately involve a rather similar process of inducing an open minded state of consciousness where “they” can communicate with me. The primary difference is that I invent my own methodology as I go and these guys are using a quite calculated process they’ve resurrected from antiquity.… Read the rest
Although my current employment situation is unfortunately going to prevent me from attending, it should be noted that this weekend marks the advent of the 7th annual Austin Psychedelic Music Festival. Mad props are in order to Austin’s very own The Black Angels for continuing to cohesively bridge the gap between various factions of the stoned music community. For the vast majority of my life, organized psychedelic culture has basically consisted of the hippie jam band crowd and the psi-trance Burning Man set. Of course, the vast majority of entheogen voyagers (myself included) don’t conveniently fit into either one of those camps at all. As a teenage head, psych music to me meant things like Sonic Youth, Kyuss, Monster Magnet, classic Verve albums, and the Future Sound of London rather than hippie-dippy crap like the Grateful Dead and Phish, neither of whom come across as particularly psych-ed out to my ears.… Read the rest
Ahhh, the manner by which synchronicity manifests itself into your life when you intentionally tread the path of a sorcerer. You toss around the idea of writing a think piece called “Protest with Witchcraft” for over a year, then finally decide to tackle it and just after you do an article appears on the site you’re writing it for about how street protests don’t work anymore. Then the day before you toss it up another appears about a new wave of witch hunters rising around the world. Of course, I write about this sychromystic high strangeness all the time on Facebook (friend me), and I haven’t even gotten to the oddest part yet. A week or so earlier I out of nowhere decided I needed to re-read A Separate Reality by Carlos Casteneda. I do have the cover tattooed on my right bicep, so I figured I might re-familiarize with what exactly that implies in a magickal context.… Read the rest
Those who follow my Facebook magick blog (friend me) might be aware that a month or so back I had a series of visions indicating that there is a psychic veil of sorts beaming upside down pentagrams into the hearts and minds of humanity, keeping us “blind and in line” as to the nature of our higher functioning. This is of course a biblical concept (our banishing from the Garden of Eden) and as one of my readers pointed out to me, something William S. Burroughs wrote about in extended detail. I suppose that’s my way of saying I’m not the only mystic who’s perceived this lower dimensional prison wall barring our heavenly ascension.
Now, the good news on that front is that the message imparted on me actually had to do with the idea that this supernatural force of order has reached its apex in power and will become increasingly insignificant as time moves forward.… Read the rest
