Ahhh, the manner by which synchronicity manifests itself into your life when you intentionally tread the path of a sorcerer. You toss around the idea of writing a think piece called “Protest with Witchcraft” for over a year, then finally decide to tackle it and just after you do an article appears on the site you’re writing it for about how street protests don’t work anymore. Then the day before you toss it up another appears about a new wave of witch hunters rising around the world. Of course, I write about this sychromystic high strangeness all the time on Facebook (friend me), and I haven’t even gotten to the oddest part yet. A week or so earlier I out of nowhere decided I needed to re-read A Separate Reality by Carlos Casteneda. I do have the cover tattooed on my right bicep, so I figured I might re-familiarize with what exactly that implies in a magickal context.… Read the rest

Those who follow my Facebook magick blog (friend me) might be aware that a month or so back I had a series of visions indicating that there is a psychic veil of sorts beaming upside down pentagrams into the hearts and minds of humanity, keeping us “blind and in line” as to the nature of our higher functioning. This is of course a biblical concept (our banishing from the Garden of Eden) and as one of my readers pointed out to me, something William S. Burroughs wrote about in extended detail. I suppose that’s my way of saying I’m not the only mystic who’s perceived this lower dimensional prison wall barring our heavenly ascension.
Now, the good news on that front is that the message imparted on me actually had to do with the idea that this supernatural force of order has reached its apex in power and will become increasingly insignificant as time moves forward.… Read the rest
Okay, the tagline there about internal godhood being easy is total clickbait horseshit. I just wanted to get your lazy ass to read the article. Maybe I should have thrown a picture of bikini tits up there or a dude with a six pack or something about how you can get into heaven by sending me money (which I’m pretty sure would actually work). But this article is about Occult spirituality, and the bad news on that front is that everything involved with the Occult is complicated beyond any human being’s capacity for comprehension by its very nature. The multiverse of consciousness is not just stranger than we imagine it to be, it’s stranger than we can imagine it to be. But don’t let that sobering reality get you down, with a little bit of effort you can be well on your way to fucking with your own head until what’s currently considered impossible becomes quite deliciously “real”.… Read the rest
If you live in Seattle, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with the antics of uber-douche “spiritual leader” Mark Driscoll, as his over the top douchebaggery is pretty much impossible to ignore around here. For those not in the know, he’s become rather famous by marketing a supposedly hip brand of Christianity (Christian rock can totally be a part of a church service dude!) to a younger demographic.
The problem is that his hip new faith embraces the same misogynist homophobia that most other conservative parishes in the Bible Belt embrace wholeheartedly. Women are not allowed to be a part of the clergy and are continually lectured in regards to the importance of submitting to their husband’s will. Being gay or getting an abortion will land you in hell. In fact, one of the weird things about Driscoll is that he somehow claims to know EXACTLY what God allows and doesn’t allow sexually.… Read the rest
Initially conceived as merely “cool shit for stoned people to look at while we play live” visitors (SUPERVISITORS) ended up becoming a legit 23 minute Occult film unto itself. It just sort of happened that way. Largely created using a technologically updated version of the cut up technique popularized by Brion Gysin and William S. Burroughs back in the day, the movie takes various footage depicting mystical states of consciousness from the 70’s and re-assembles them with a lot of the sigil collage art I’ve been honing in recent years. For those in the know, it has long been theorized that using the cut up technique potentially allows the artist to tap into what’s often referred to as “the third mind” or to see what the art “is really saying” and that’s what’s so odd, transcendent, and baffling about the picture.… Read the rest
The thing about magick that’s difficult to explain to the uninitiated is that you absolutely have to do it to understand it entirely. You can’t just read about it in books. Supposedly “coincidental” events start piling on top of each other in such a way that you can’t deny the interconnected nature of consciousness anymore. The ideas of dead matter and cold randomness start to appear increasingly primitive. You try to buy into them because that’s what you’ve been taught since birth but the hive mind keeps throwing wrenches into that whole design from the inside. Eventually you learn to ride the strange and start looking for the plot and how you fit into it rather than denying that there is one a priori. I try to write about this connective sensation as much as I can (more on Facebook than here, friend me), and last weekend was one of those odd examples of the universe tapping into my private thoughtspace and playing tag.… Read the rest
Thanks to a hot tipper on Facebook (friend me) for pointing me in the direction of this. Apparently the daughter of the guy who did the Illuminatus play back in the day is now setting her sites on an adaptation of Cosmic Trigger. Via the Liverpool Confidential:
“Campbell’s daughter does not have to be quite so forceful this Monday afternoon to command all eyes and ears. With all the charisma of her father – not to mention the striking features of her mother (the actress Prunella Gee) – that’s not a bad hand of DNA cards.
Daisy is in Liverpool on a recce for a performance lecture she is co-hosting next month with science fiction author John Higgs. Higgs is a man who also writes with authority about Timothy Leary but who is recently best known for a critically acclaimed book on the KLF’s money-burning adventures.… Read the rest
Now, I’m not saying I’m a supporter of the surveillance state or anything like that. It’s hyper creepy as all get out. As a matter of fact, before I even get into that level of sketch I’ll first focus on the bright side. One thing that no one seems to philosophically contemplate nearly enough these days is how quickly we’ve plunged ourselves into increasingly fantasy centric lifestyles. Why is that? Our lives are cripplingly boring and we’re forced into these alternate dimensions of thought as a reflex. I mean, how many of us actually find any sort of fulfillment in our supposed “careers”. Like 2% optimistically? I think I’m being generous with that. I mean, increasingly intertwined mind rape corporations are currently taking home record profits, and who the fuck grows up thinking, “I want to work at the Pizza Hut corporate office one day.” Fucking no one….ever…and yet, uber boring places like that are where a crap ton of us end up, gladly, because the alternative is further selling our lives down the rabbit hole of higher education, which may or may not make things better for us and costs an ass ton of money.… Read the rest
The more I’ve rocketed my personal microverse to the outer fringes with various Occult exploration techniques, the more I’ve come to the conclusion that we’re spiritually retarded as a species. And let me define what I mean by spirituality quite clearly here. Of the spirit. Dreams, visions, hallucinations, synchronicities, etc. The opposite of materialism essentially. Spirit. It’s right in the fucking word. All of our brains do this primal reality creating trick to a certain extent. And when I say that we’re spiritually retarded I’m not just using the term for insensitive comedic effect. I actually think it’s an apt metaphor. Those we derogatorily refer to as retarded are often defined by the more PC “developmentally disabled” and in a way, I think that’s what’s going on with us. On one hand we’ve developed the logical mathematic side of ourselves at a freakishly rapid clip, but on the other, we’re still starting wars based on interpretations of visions that supposedly happened thousands of years ago.… Read the rest
Ahhh synchronicity. So while digging for collage footage for a new Occult movie I’m making last week (first one will come out at the end of February), I stumbled on this video about the spiritual component to Alchemy and ended up watching the whole thing when I was supposed to be culling neato video clips.
I’m not going to lie, it’s not the greatest movie in the universe. I mean really, they should have just hired another narrator and it would have been fine. Not everyone is great at voice acting but it does get better as the thing moves on. Despite the lackluster narration though, it is in fact good enough that I still recommend it. What’s funny is that I wasn’t actually going to post this, but then in the next week Disinfo ran two separate stories regarding alchemy, neither one of which mentioned the spiritual component of the practice.… Read the rest
