Pro Tips: Alien Abduction or Satanic Ritual Abuse?

51ZncfvRC2LBecause I wrote a totally weird book and because I write regularly for Disinformation, people in my life think that I am an expert on the odd. The other night I was having some craft beer at a local pub while talking with some friends about how fun the color run was going to be, when one of my friends asked me a question that has been coming up over and over again.

He wanted to know how he could be sure whether he was the victim of Satanic Ritual Abuse or Alien Abduction. Usually when you are abducted, in all the excitement, it really is hard to tell what the Hell is going on. You know you are on a table, or maybe an altar, and something is happening. But whether you are being molested by aliens or Satanists is somewhat hard to discern at times.

Thankfully I was prepared to answer his question.… Read the rest

Budapest Resident Snaps Photograph of ‘Alien,’ Believes He Was Abducted

An unknown object (read: ‘alien’) stands in the middle of the Hungarian trail. Credit: MUFON

This may be the most outrageous ‘alien/creature’ photo of recent memory.

via Cryptozoology News:

The man submitting the report, who did not provide a name, says he was walking through the woods in the early afternoon of March 25 when he spotted the oddity standing in the middle of a trail.

“A bright sphere floated in front of him,” he reported to MUFON. ” I took out my mobile phone, and I did a photograph.”

The man says he can’t remember what happened after taking the photograph.

“I only know that the creature disappeared,” he said, wondering whether it was an “alien”.

Image analysts tell Cryptozoology News that the picture was taken with a Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone on the date originally reported by the eyewitness. It does not, initially, appear to have been doctored with image editing software, such as Photoshop.

via Scientific American:

So then they roll me over on my back, and the examiner has a long needle in his hand. And I see the needle. And it’s bigger than any needle that I’ve ever seen.” So testifies Betty Hill, of her experience inside a flying saucer near Franconia Notch, New Hampshire, in 1961. Betty and her husband, Barney Hill, are the earliest known victims of alien abduction, and the 1966 bestseller The Interrupted Journey describes how they recalled the event under hypnosis. Their story includes nude medical exams and invasive probing—an alien abduction scenario many of us recognize from the TV shows and movies of the past 50 years.

But in 2008 a Columbia University psychoanalyst published “Alien Abduction: A Medical Hypothesis” which suggested that what is known as “accidental awareness under general anesthesia”—in which a patient awakens on the table during surgery—might lie behind stories of alien abduction.

Confessions of an Alien Abductee (C4 UK TV)

Ann Druffel’s classic tome for UFO abductees and their families

Disinfonauts may be interested in this TV show which suggests that the UK harbours a large subculture of people who claim direct contact with Extra Terrestrials, not unlike the one in the US.

It profiles a group called A.M.M.A.C.H. who run a helpline for alien contactees.

From the Channel 4 website:

Anomalous Mind Management Abductee Contactee Helpline, or AMMACH, the 999 for people who believe they have been victims of alien abduction.

The film follows some of the 100 members who use the helpline, including Simon, a town councillor who believes that in addition to his earthbound wife he has a family of alien children with an alien lover.

There’s also Chantelle, a housewife who’s been abducted thousands of times and wants her encounters to stop.

Marie is an accountant who believes that her DNA has been altered and that she may be part alien.
