The Bitcoin “Crash” Is A Patent Falsehood: Here’s Why

bitcoinNothing like that demented mainstream media narrative: talking about the Duck Dynasty guy’s personal views on gays non-stop, but kicking real stories like the Fukushima ongoing radiation crisis to the curb.

And when it comes to innovative technologies like Bitcoin, “our” “free” press is equally off the rocker.

Back in January, one Bitcoin fetched $13. When I began covering it on my podcast, the price was around $10 per coin. Today, even “post-crash” in mainstream media parlance, the same coin is worth $702 on the Mt. Gox exchange. That is a 54x return year to date, and the year’s not even finished yet. Find me a stock that has gained 54x during the same time period — would the media label that a “crash” also? I don’t think so.

The media is not your friend. Unless your name is JPMorgan Chase or Bank of America.

And the group who could be most helped by Bitcoin’s promise of frictionless money, liberated from constant fees, is the American middle class – a middle class hammered by increasingly stringent credit history requirements for loans, ruthless foreclosures, insane student loan debt.… Read the rest

CIA Director Was Michael Hastings’ Next Target

Hastings-carcrashBefore dying in what many people consider an incredibly suspicious car “accident”, Michael Hastings had CIA Director John Brennan in his sights.

Via San Diego 6:

This week Elise Jordan, wife of famed journalist Michael Hastings, who recently died under suspicious circumstances, corroborated this reporter’s sources that CIA Director, John Brennan was Hastings next exposé project.

Last month a source provided San Diego 6 News with an alarming email hacked from super secret CIA contractor Stratfor’s President Fred Burton. The email (link here) was posted on WikiLeaks and alleged that then Obama counter-terrorism Czar Brennan, was in charge of the government’s continued crackdown or witch-hunt on investigative journalists.

After providing the Stratfor email to the CIA for comment, the spymaster’s spokesperson responded in lightning speed. Two emails were received; one acknowledging Hastings was working on a CIA story and the other said, “Without commenting on information disseminated by WikiLeaks, any suggestion that Director Brennan has ever attempted to infringe on constitutionally-protected press freedoms is offensive and baseless.”

The emails also prompted a phone from CIA media spokesman Todd Ebitz.

Popular “Crash” Blogger Ran Prieur Throws in the Towel?

Picture: Padraic Ryan (CC)

I love Ran Prieur’s blog. I’ve been following it faithfully since 2005. I had it set as my browser homepage for a few months once. I’m not sure of all the exact details, but he is “semi” retiring from blogging  and apparently no longer believes in what is commonly referred to as the “Crash” or “the Shit Hitting the Fan” or “The end of Civilization as We know it.”  He will still occasionally make posts but his section entitled “Crash Watch” is officially retired

January 1, 2013. This page is retired. Ten years ago it really seemed like the whole system was about to come apart. People who saw a crash coming were seeing things that were being ignored by people who expected business as usual. Yet we were still wrong. After seeing how little daily life has changed after the 2008 financial collapse, seven years with global oil production on a plateau, and two catastrophic hurricanes, I think the big mistake of doomers was assuming that failures would have positive feedback like a house of cards.

Two Crashes and Bitchin’ Technology at Roswell

Picture: Roswell Daily Record (PD)

According to this story in the Huffington Post, there were actually two UFOs shot down near Roswell NM in 1947.

Curiously, the technology used to fly the UFOs (as described in the article) was contemporary with the technology used to shoot them down.

It would certainly be specular if the craft were extraterrestrial in origin. And it would be just as spectacular if the US Air Force employed 1980s-era weapons to disrupt 1980s-era flight technology in the 1940s.
