Researchers Encounter ‘Bigfoot’ in Missouri, say it Made Donkey Sounds

Randy Savig, a 50-year-old Bigfoot researcher, and his research partner, Bernie, claim to have encountered the always elusive creature. They provided the above audio recording, but no video.

via Cryptozoology News:

“The whoop vocals came from about 30 degrees to the right of the subject we were watching,” he says. “They almost seemed to be an alarm. With the audio contamination from the tree frogs and the bugs this time of the year, recording good clear audio is next to impossible, but if you use headphones to listen to this it is easier to hear what is going on.”

But these vocals reportedly became something else. As the two men were closely monitoring the being behind the bushes, the “donkey” sounds began.

“Odd. It was as if it was attempting to mimic a donkey. There are mules on a farm about a mile and a half ,as the crow files, but really sound off from audio we got from them before.”

The two men said that the animal then “dropped down” and that it became “too dark to see anymore”.

A 50-year-old minister from Texas claims that she and her daughter spotted a jurassic-like bird flying while at Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in California.

via Cryptozoology News:

The minister, a 50-year-old Texas resident and avid bird watcher, said they were at Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, south of Sacramento, when the creature showed up on a clear spring day.

“We were hiking and looking for Blue Herons and other migratory birds,” the woman told Cryptozoology News on Thursday. “My daughter and I saw the bird first and we both pointed to it, stunned and in shock as we tried to come up with a logical explanation for what we thought we were seeing. It was not a kite, it was a real animal,” she added about the alleged 1994 encounter.

The eyewitness says they observed the animal for about 20 minutes as it circled an area and then veered off in a different direction.

The Loch Ness Monster: Just A Catfish?

The latest theory about Scotland’s most famous crypto creature, the Loch Ness monster: it’s a Wels Catfish, per AFP via Yahoo News:

A man who has spent 24 years scanning Scotland’s Loch Ness for its legendary mysterious monster reckons Nessie is most likely a giant catfish — although he is not prepared to give up looking just yet.

Steve Feltham, who holds a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous Nessie vigil, says it is the most probable explanation for the enigmatic beast that has captivated people’s imaginations the world over.

“The current frontrunner is the Wels catfish. It’s the most likely explanation,” the 52-year-old told AFP.

“I’m not saying it’s the final explanation. It ticks most of the boxes with sightings — but it doesn’t tick them all.”

Feltham left his home and girlfriend in 1991 to go looking for Nessie and has spent the years since in a caravan on the lake shore, scanning the waters.

The Camel-Horse of Loch Ness

camel-horse-570x517

Could it be that the water monster living in Loch Ness is actually a land-dwelling camel like creature? Nick Redfern at Mysterious Universe investigates:

Nineteen-thirty-three was certainly the year in which Nessie fever erupted in spectacular style. One year earlier, however, there was a deeply strange occurrence at Loch Ness, Scotland; it’s one that is very often overlooked or ignored. The reason why is easy to fathom. It is at extreme odds – in terms of the description of the creature – with so many other reports and, therefore, does not sit well with many Nessie investigators. Too bad. The stranger it is, the more I’ll talk about it.

The witness was a Lieutenant McP Fordyce and the date was April 1932. At the time, Fordyce was living in the English county of Kent, but, along with his fiancée, traveled by car to Aberdeen, Scotland, to attend a family wedding.

Monsters in America: A Cryptozoological Map of the United States

hog_island_press_monsters_in_america

Philly based Hog Island Press has created this awesome map of various monsters allegedly found across the continental US.

Monsters in America: A Cryptozoological Map of the United States is possibly the first of its kind – a snapshot of American cryptozoology that brings together the Jersey Devil, Bigfoot, Mothman, Chupacabra, Shunka Warakin, Caddy, the Honey Island Swamp Monster and many more cryptids on one hand-drawn, hand-screened map.

Loren Coleman, the Director of the International Cryptozoology Museum, had this to say: “The cryptid-filled, cartographically accurate Monsters in America: A Cryptozoological Map of the United States should be on the walls of every museum, library, and researcher’s office interested in the science of as-yet-to-be-discovered animals. Hog Island Press has produced an informative, affordable, high quality collectible, which also serves as an educational tool useful for your next road trip, a future research trek, or everyday bibliographic study. There is not a fake on the map.

Lizard Men, Reptoids, and Sleestaks: The Fear and Awe of Reptilian Humanoids

Probably like a lot of you, I grew up fairly obsessed with dinosaurs. There’s something improbable about these things that appeal to the imagination of children. The idea that not terribly long ago the Earth was dominated by animals that mirror in so many ways the dragons and other monsters of myth and fairy tale is somewhat magical: It’s as if the grown-ups who taught us about dinosaurs- teachers, scientists and others – have said, “Dragons and ogres and trolls are all make-believe, but we’ve not taken away all the monsters. Take heart: Here’s a nice book full of ferocious-looking beasts that’s okay for you to believe in. Study, even.”

One of my first experiences with dinosaurs in pop culture was watching Sid and Marty Krofft’s live action Saturday morning children’s show The Land of the Lost, a series chronicling the adventures of patriarch Rick Marshall, and his children, Will and Holly, as they attempt to escape the titular Land of the Lost, a parallel dimension that they’ve been trapped in via some kind of mysterious portal encountered on a canoeing trip.… Read the rest

Houston “Chupacabra” Sightings Could Be Real, Intentionally Bred Animal

chupaAre fantasy fans attempting to breed their own real-life mythical animals? Via the Houston Chronicle:

A recent sighting of the mythical chupacabra could be the result of exotic animal owners interbreeding their pets, according to a Houston animal control expert.

Two residents of the Doliver Point gated community near Gessner and Doliver claim to have seen giant footprints alongside Buffalo Bayou and say they have photos to prove it is the mysterious chupacabra.

Scott Black and David McKee took several photos of the animal Sunday, according to KPRC news. “It was very vicious, very long, longer than a human,” said Claude Griffen from Gotcha Pest control, who was brought into check out the photos. “It was a pretty big animal, very well fed.”

Houston animal control officials said they have heard of people trying to breed dogs that look like so-called direwolves from the TV show Game of Thrones.

Griffen said it’s not the first one he’s come across and asserts that people are deliberately trying to breed animals that match descriptions of these mythical creatures.
