Alien Life’s Threat To Society Discussed At 2013 Davos Forum

What are the global elite worried about? Apparently, the likely discovery of life in outer space sowing spiritual and existential unrest amongst the masses. The Huffington Post reports:

The WEF Global Risks report for 2013 states that “Given the pace of space exploration, it is increasingly conceivable that we may discover the existence of alien life or other planets that could support human life…in 10 years’ time.”

The risk factor of all of this comes with the long-term psychological and philosophical implications that will accompany the discovery of alien life.

“It will suggest that life is as natural and as ubiquitous a part of the universe as the stars and galaxies,” the report continues. “It fuel speculation about the existence of other intelligent beings and challenge many assumptions that underpin human philosophy and religion.” The WEF team “urges the global elite to prepare themselves and their nations for such a discovery.”

The Private Social Network For The Extremely Rich and Powerful

moneykeyAn Esquire piece on $4 billion software company Tibco discusses its latest, perhaps most significant project:
TopCom is a private communications platform for the 200 most powerful people in the world. It is being officially launched in late January at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It is basically a customized, ridiculously secure version of tibbr, a platform developed as a kind of combination Facebook, Twitter, e-mail, texting, and Skype. It is a private social network, essentially — in this case, for world leaders. Because the World Economic Forum has a hierarchy, so does TopCom: The top two hundred WEF members — basically, the people who run the world — can speak to one another on a given subject, and then they can choose to loop in members from lower tiers (experts, academics, etc.) as needed, widening the pool of knowledge on whatever problem is on the table.

Davos Is A Disastrous Conspiracy Of The Rich

WEF DavosThe fact that Paul Farrell is allowed to publish such fierce criticism of the World Economic Forum’s Davos gathering in a Rupert Murdoch-owned publication is more than a little disarming and in stark contrast to the non-Murdoch-owned Economist.

Davos. Swiss Alps. Annual meeting of the notorious World Economic Forum. Invitation-only club for the Super Rich and friends since 1971. Feel-good mantra: “Committed to improving the state of the world.”

But they’re failing. In 40 years the Haves got richer. Have-nots got shafted. Something’s terribly wrong. When it comes to global economics, Davos is a disaster.

Why? Inside Davos is a secret society, a Conspiracy of the Super Rich, more than half the 2,500 attending the event. They’ve got trillions. And it’s not enough. Right now, many are cruising to Davos at 50,000 feet, enjoying caviar, foie gras, filet mignon and Dom Perignon in the comfort of their tax-exempt Gulfstream 5 jets.

Head Of Security At World Economic Forum Found Dead In Davos

There must be a conspiracy theory attached to this story, surely? There isn’t much news coming out of the Davos 2010World Economic Forum currently underway in Davos, so this item in the New York Times really stood out for me:

Unpleasant news hit the World Economic Forum on Tuesday, after local authorities aid they had found the police commander heading security dead, in what looked like a suicide.

The head of the police in the Swiss canton of Graubuenden, Markus Reinhardt, was found dead in his hotel in Davos, the police of the south-eastern canton said in a media release on its Web site, according to Reuters.

“All indications point to a suicide,” it added…
