Broken Soul – Psychedelic Poetry by ۩

Via The Nexian:

Ganja Lion – By Blue Lunar Light (crop)

I was sitting full-lotus around a fire that was whispering symbols in a tipi in the desert listening to the wind howl when I closed my eyes and left. There is a latch that clings to our souls that I know how to undo with a bit of focus. The method is there waiting to be learned intuitively. Passing through the loudest possible explosions of atomic blasts from within, I ride an eternal detachment through an organic tube twisting out of control.

Then it all falls into place with a fold and comes back one piece at a time, almost looking like a cartoon but obviously much more sophisticated. I am in the body of a person walking through a forest in the dead of night. The moon through the dancing silhouette of the canopy is somewhere in between the color of bone, chelated metal and duplicates a shining.… Read the rest

The Light That Burns: Night-Time Illumination and Melatonin Suppression

File:U.S. Atlantic Seaboard at Night.JPG

NASA Earth Observatory (CC)

Some interesting studies are cited that indicate meditation, yoga, fruit, and darkness all increase our melatonin (a pineal gland metabolite; often referred to as a miracle hormone). We know that artificial lighting and bad diet have left us chronically deficient in this hormone – a fact with vast implications for neurodegenerative diseases -but just how far back does the deficiency go if, at one time, we were eating a high percentage of fruit biochemistry for millions of years in the African tropics?

Via The Nexian:

Darkness is good for us; it is an ally that heals us. It is something to be embraced, not feared. From Palaeolithic times, up until very recently, the only major sources of light we would have experienced once the sun went down would have been starlight, moonlight and firelight. Life on this planet has evolved for three and a half billion years with a regular and dependable day-night schedule.… Read the rest

Criminals and Researchers: Perspectives on the Necessity of Underground Research

PIC: DMT NEXUS (C)

PIC: DMT NEXUS (C)

History has shown time and time again how innovative research and experimentation is sometimes deemed too radical for the current paradigm, so much so that it is shunned by the societal structures that fail to understand it, and in some cases even made highly illegal. Whether it was persecuting heretical alchemists and “witches”, indigenous people across the world holding rituals with plant medicines/teachers, or students nabbing cadavers from the cemetery at night in order to further their understanding of the human body, humanity is no stranger to these completely insane fear-based witch hunts. It’s no secret that the biggest witch hunt today goes by the name “The War on [some people who use certain] Drugs”.

David Nickles, an underground researcher who has presented novel information at major psychedelic conferences on behalf of the DMT-Nexus, elaborates on the need for underground research via The Nexian :

Shortly after presenting on behalf of the DMT-Nexus at the Psychedemia conference at the University of Pennsylvania, in September 2012, I was interviewed by a Harvard Graduate student for a paper he was writing.

Building Alien Worlds – A Paper on the Neuropsychological and Evolutionary Implications of DMT

Fellow disinfo psychonauts might find this of interest… Researcher and DMT-Nexus member Andrew R. Gallimore, PhD., has published a new paper on DMT in the Journal of Scientific Exploration. It is currently being hosted on The Nexian news site, and is free for viewing/download. The role that DMT and its tryptamine relatives- such as 5-meo-dmt and bufotenine -play in the nervous system, and its evolution, is far from fully understood. Hopefully works like this could help shed some much needed light on the subject:

Abstract—Arguably the most remarkable property of the human brain is its ability to construct the world that appears to consciousness. The brain is capable of building worlds during waking life, but also in the complete absence of extrinsic sensory data, entirely from intrinsic thalamocortical activity, as during dreaming. DMT, an extraordinary psychedelic, perturbs brain activity such that indescribably bizarre and apparently alien worlds are built. This property of DMT continues to defy explanation.

A Critical Analysis of the State’s Definition of “Ecological Terrorism”

An incredibly lucid and thought provoking analysis by David Nickles of the DMT-Nexus, via their news site: The Nexian:

While the following article focuses on the relationship between the state, its shareholders, and ecological activists, much of the framing, narratives, and propagandizing can be easily applied to the War on [some people who use certain] Drugs. The parallel manners in which dominant narratives (and their wide-ranging repercussions) are framed by politicians and media figures in both arenas are easily observable and evidence certain functions of the state apparatus. This article is intended to serve as a crash course in some radical perspectives on ecological struggle, in order to lay the foundation for future writings on ecological resistance and entheogens. Ecological struggle is inherently tied to entheogenic rituals within many cultures around the world. The utilization of entheogens to open ourselves to these struggles, catalyze our own action with regards to them, and create rituals that can help sustain the long-term engagement necessary for such work cannot be overstated.
