RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – A man posted to YouTube video he says shows him questioning sheriff’s deputies about a July 4 DUI checkpoint. The driver said he was pulled over, bullied around and searched without consent during the traffic stop.

“All this harassment because my window was not lowered enough to his preference,” the driver posted on YouTube. “I broke no laws whatsoever. All of this on a day that we are supposed to be celebrating freedom and liberty.”

Here is a great example of how to ignore the unlawful requests from law enforcement.

Conservative Mormon Senator Busted for DUI

Conservative Republican Senator Michael Crapo (R-ID) was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning after failing a roadside sobriety test. Crapo, a Mormon, has stated publicly that he abstains from alcohol.

A mea culpa has already been issued:

I am deeply sorry for the actions that resulted in this circumstance. I made a mistake for which I apologize to my family, my Idaho constituents and any others who have put their trust in me. I accept total responsibility and will deal with whatever penalty comes my way in this matter. I will also undertake measures to ensure that this circumstance is never repeated.

Who the hell says “I am deeply sorry for the actions that resulted in this circumstance” anyway? A guy who probably isn’t going to have a political career for much longer, that’s who. Crapo, indeed.

For many other drugs, such as marijuana and cocaine, there are signs of intoxication, but no immediate method of proof. Often, urine or blood samples must be taken at the police station, which must then be processed to confirm the what and how much of the substance taken. New develops allow a person’s sweat to give more instant results.The Raw Story reports:

A new technology that analyzes the sweat from a person’s fingertips looks to revolutionize the drug testing market, providing on-site results in minutes with a test so advanced it can even detect marijuana intoxication.

Using gold nanoparticles and special antibodies, the tech produced by British firm Intelligent Fingerprinting latches on to metabolites on the fingerprint and turns a specific color depending on which drug byproducts are detected.
