Man Arrested For Hundreds Of 911 Calls Claiming Satellite Mind Control

mind control

Strange problems via CBS Sacramento:

A man who called 911 more than 100 times in one month says he’s not going to stop until his concerns are heard by the federal government. Sacramento Police say he’s ignored warnings to stop calling over and over, so they arrested him for 911 abuse.

Jimmy Shao keeps a log book of every 911 call he’s made. He doesn’t believe he’s wasting the time of emergency responders because he has an emergency of his own: Shao believes he’s being watched by shadowy government authorities.

He claims to believe his body is controlled by satellites. “My brain, I can feel it starting. I’m blasted by the signals, every couple of minutes,” he said. “I yell and I scream, ‘Stop it, I don’t need this,’ but they never listen.”

Fresh out of jail, Shao promises he isn’t done dialing 911, “until Congress starts an investigation.”

Hacked Montana Television Station Issues Zombie Doomsday Alert

Scary daytime viewing from Montana’s KRTV:

Someone apparently hacked into the Emergency Alert System and announced on KRTV and the CW that “dead bodies are rising from their graves” in several Montana counties. This message did not originate from KRTV, and there is no emergency. Our engineers are investigating to determine what happened and if it affected other media outlets.

Are You Really Prepared For A Natural Disaster?

As I write the The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Blizzard Warning for the New York City area. Weather Underground advises:

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions… making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel… have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded… stay with your vehicle.

But in looking through the various web-sites on disaster preparedness, there is an almost hilarious amount of wise-acreing.  There are some good sites with honest people recommending good choices,  but for the most part it is a burgoo of foolishness and hence you get my lengthy and somewhat indignant commentary on just how imbecilic and unconscionable this entire “Mad Max” industry is.

First of all, there is a bewildering array of options that virtually every site offers—who can sort through this nonsense?  Kit after kit, with option after option.… Read the rest

FCC May Allow You To Text 911

If you’re unable to speak during an emergency, but still have access to your cell phone, you will soon be able to send a text, picture or video to 911. Although, until 911 dispatchers are up to date with technology you still need to pick up the phone and dial a real operator. The Wall Street Journal reports:

Here’s a public safety message: You can’t text 911.

Not yet, anyway. The Federal Communications Commission says that shortcoming was evident during the Virginia Tech massacre. Students and witnesses tried texting 911 for help. But those texts went unanswered because call centers can’t accept texts or photos.

That doesn’t appear likely to change any time soon, but the government now says it’s ready to explore the possibility of making 911 go mobile. FCC Commissioner Julius Genachowski announced today that the commission will hold a Next Generation 911 proceeding in December, the first step in an inquiry process that will determine states’ capabilities and financing requirements for updating the system.
