Obama

In 2012, POUS said “I think same-sex couples should be able to get married” on “Good Morning America.” Then in the 2013 State of the Union, “restore the basic bargain that built this country… get ahead… no matter who you love.”

In February a Vatican Archbishop defined marriage “only between a man and a woman” and likened same sex marriage to a “sick egalitarianism.”

NARAL had endorsed Obama’s 2012 reelection, describing him as “pro-choice” on NARAL.org. On Nov 7th, Reuters reported on a statement to the president-elect about promoting “a culture of life” from the Vatican.

It’s perhaps unsurprising that activist group, FEMEN–which identifies as an “international women’s movement” based in Ukraine–protested in Vatican City on Tuesday (from RT.com). A video shows a protester shouting “Pope No More!”

Jon Queally writes at Common Dreams:

Philosophy professor, social critic and activist Cornel West says that like Richard Nixon and George W. Bush, there is no way to avoid the conclusion that President Obama—due to his execution of foreign wars and direction of clandestine military operations overseas resulting in the direct and foreseeable death of innocent people—should be called out for what he is: a ‘war criminal’. Appearing on Tavis Smiley’s radio program on Thursday, West said: “We’ve been talking about this for a good while, the immorality of drones, dropping bombs on innocent people. It’s been over 200 children so far. These are war crimes.”

On January 21, 2013 WeAreChange went to Washington DC for Barack Obama’s second Presidential Inauguration. While we were there we hosted a quiz show where we offered $100 to anyone who could correctly answer 3 out of 5 questions about the man they were there supporting. This was an opportunity for us to possibly educate some people on things his administration has done that they were most likely unaware of. Unfortunately, most people were more concerned about the money than some of the things they learned about their President.

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin talks to Ian Freeman, Host of “Free Talk Live”, about the police state and the erosion of American civil liberties. Abby then talks to RT Arabic Correspondent, Reema Abu Hamdieh, about the polarized views of Arabs in the Middle East toward a second Obama Administration. BTS wraps up the show with a look at torture, murder and rape by US military contractors going unpunished.

Sierra Adamson talks to Jeremy Scahill, author of Blackwater and writer for The National, about some of the under-reported issues such as drone strikes in the Middle East, Obama’s kill list/Disposition Matrix, NDAA, use of the Espionage Act against whistle-blowers. Jeremy talks about the assassination of the 16 year old American citizen, Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, who was killed by a drone strike authorized by President Obama and the response Robert Gibbs recently gave us when we questioned him on it. He discusses the left’s disregard of their anti-war principles in favor of being loyal to leaders in their own party and the war propaganda that is fed to Americans through mass media.

Via Mother Jones:

President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as “Delphi” to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That’s according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month.
