Cannabis Planted in UK City of Newport’s Potted Plants

THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.

THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.

Yo, dawg; I heard you like potted plants, so I potted your plant so you can smoke that potted pot while you pot pot plants.

Via BBC:

Council officials in Newport are trying to discover who planted cannabis in flower pots put out to brighten up the city.

More than 20 of the illegal plants were discovered nestling amongst begonias and petunias in the street flower displays.

But by the time police were told and went to examine the specimens they had already been harvested.

The council said it was checking CCTV footage to find the culprits.

“I had never seen cannabis growing in the wild before so it was crazy to see it,” said local businessman Dean Beddis, who made the discovery.

It’s a serious issue and we will be informing the police”

“It’s actually rather a beautiful plant and stood out wonderfully. But they have gone now.

Two Men Run Wild In An Empty Terminal At Dallas Forth-Worth Airport

There has been a video floating around the internet of photographer Joe Ayala and friend Larry Chen stranded at Dallas Fort-Worth Airport after their connecting flight was canceled one night. When it appeared there was no one else in the terminal, the two decide to make the most of the situation and goof around in wheelchair races and enjoying themselves to some free beer. The incident was seen on security cameras, but no personnel seem to be in the terminal. Aviation security experts don’t believe it to be too much of a security risk because the men were ticketed passengers who had already been through TSA screenings, but not everyone agrees.

DFW airport board member Betty Culbreath says while it may have been a prank, it sent the wrong message. “It’s not funny. It’s not going to happen again as far as I’m concerned. It should not have happened because it gives the perception the airport is sitting out there unguarded and that’s why I was concerned, and am still concerned.”

Canada’s Goldstream River Turned Fluorescent Green

Via Utica Daily News:

The river, which runs through the city of Langford, British Columbia, turned a fluorescent green on Dec. 30, when a passer-by captured stunning video of the verdant waterway.

At first it wasn’t clear what caused the river — and the water in a nearby fountain — to change color. But investigators now believe that the green hue was caused by the addition of fluorescein, a synthetic organic compound that is often used as a dye, or a “fluorescent tracer,” in the testing of water systems.

16 year-old Justin Bieber jumped into the music scene as a heartthrob for young girls. His popularity was the first thing that was hard to understand. Then, although he is a teenage white boy, he was nominated for a BET award.  Now it seems that the public have created their own “unbelievable” news about him, they’ve voted for him to go to North Korea.  AFP via Raw Story reports:

An online contest to decide where Canadian pop star Justin Bieber should go on tour next has been hijacked by a Web prank group that has been encouraging voters to send him to North Korea.

With just a few hours left to vote, North Korea was the top vote-getter on Tuesday in the “My World Tour” contest with more than 625,000 votes, followed by Israel with 608,000 votes and Poland with 513,073 votes.

According to the BBC, the campaign to garner votes for an unlikely tour to notoriously isolated North Korea by the 16-year-old singing sensation was launched by users of the Internet bulletin board 4chan.
