Review of David Lynch’s ‘Inland Empire': a Psychedelic Trip Report

via chycho

Inland-Empire

Staying with the theme of the previous post, a review of Joon-ho Bong’s ‘Snowpiercer’, thought I’d share a review of David Lynch’s ‘Inland Empire’ that I posted on my previous site in 2007 after watching the movie for the first time – I ended up going back to the theater 2 more times within a week of making this post so that I could experience it again. Suffice it to say, I highly recommend the movie.

I walked out of ‘Inland Empire’ seven hours ago and was too exhausted to tackle this recommendation. I ended up getting something to eat and after five hours of restless sleep I think I’m ready to at least pique your interest enough to consume David Lynch and go for a ride.

I want to get one thing out of the way before I go any further. The actors in this movie will blow you away.… Read the rest

The Ayahuasca Sessions: Love Creek

Rak Razam

[disinfo ed.’s note: the following is an excerpt from Aya Awakenings: A Shamanic Odyssey by Rak Razam]

Iglesia Matriz, Iquitos

The internet café is an invaluable gringo meeting spot and later in the day I bump into Theo Valis there. He’s been gone on a week-long botanical expedition about twelve hours down the Rio Ucayali, then further down a tributary to a remote Mastes village and another five hours trek into the jungle, not too far from the Brazilian border. There, in a crude open hut he did a mini-dieta and drank ayahuasca for a week with don Gallindo, a seventy-five-year-old maestro curandero who specializes in admixture plants.

Theo says the maestro showed him how powerful ayahuasca could be in potentiating other plants—not just ones containing DMT—and that he received an immense healing. During an eight-hour session he says he also received an icaro, despite repeatedly telling the ayahuasca spirit that he was not able to remember melodies.… Read the rest

Prepping for Revolution and Awakening with Comedian and Disinfonaut Lee Camp

Via Midwest Real

“I seriously doubt there’s ever been a time like this because things weren’t global… We are in the middle of some exciting times, they’re dangerous times, but it’s really fucking exciting that this many people can wake up and alter the way they live.  We’re looking at the greatest potential that human kind has ever seen in terms of technology and awareness, yet we’re on a path that’s fully and wholeheartedly not living up to that potential.  The gap between our reality and our potential is enormous, which could mean great things.  It could mean a real global awakening in a way.” -Lee Camp

All comedy is not created equal.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m always ready for (and often partaking in) some cheap chuckles facilitated by potty humor, but I have a deeper appreciation for the type of biting satire and commentary that actually opens your mind, forcing you to think whilst giggling.Read the rest

Disinfonaut Gabriel Roberts Interviews Dr. Rick Strassman for VICE

PIC: DMT the Spirit Molecule (C)

Gabriel D. Roberts writes to share an interview he conducted with Dr. Rick Strassman, author of DMT: The Spirit Molecule, for VICE:

Dr. Rick Strassman, author of DMT: The Spirit Molecule, is responsible for groundbreaking research on dimethyltryptamine that reopened the legal doors for serious psychedelic study after decades of stagnation. Between 1990 and 1995 Dr. Strassman helped 60 patients enter the void and then documented their experiences at the University of New Mexico’s School of Medicine. Aside from his scientific observations, he has also suggested that DMT might have ties to stories of alien abduction, and that the release of DMT from the pineal gland into a fetus roughly seven weeks after conception “marks the entrance of the spirit.”

My third book, The Quest for Gnosis, was released last month and features interviews with many of the leading minds in psychedelic study, including Dr.… Read the rest

We’re All Made of Soul Stuff: Attain Internal Godhood in 5 Easy Steps!

ourgloriousdead2 (1)Okay, the tagline there about internal godhood being easy is total clickbait horseshit. I just wanted to get your lazy ass to read the article. Maybe I should have thrown a picture of bikini tits up there or a dude with a six pack or something about how you can get into heaven by sending me money (which I’m pretty sure would actually work). But this article is about Occult spirituality, and the bad news on that front is that everything involved with the Occult is complicated beyond any human being’s capacity for comprehension by its very nature. The multiverse of consciousness is not just stranger than we imagine it to be, it’s stranger than we can imagine it to be. But don’t let that sobering reality get you down, with a little bit of effort you can be well on your way to fucking with your own head until what’s currently considered impossible becomes quite deliciously “real”.… Read the rest

How Magic Mushrooms Alter Your Brain

magic mushroomsVia Ultraculture, Jason Louv on how magic mushrooms temporarily quiet portions of the brain that normally constrain us:

According to two new studies released this week, psilocybin mushrooms apparently work by decreasing activity in key areas of the brain, rather than increasing it. Blood flow decreases to the medical prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and posterior cingulate cortex (PCC). Overactivity in the mPFC is associated with depression, one reason why psilocybin can be associated with antidepressant effects; the PCC is often associated with consciousness and identity.

Researchers suggest that what may actually be happening with psychedelics is decreased blood flow to brain areas that constrain our sensory experience of the world and our sense of identity—allowing the brain to relax its grip on ordering reality and open up to a broader spectrum.

Professor David Nutt, from the Department of Medicine at Imperial College London, said: “We found that psilocybin actually caused activity to decrease in areas that… constrain our experience of the world and keep it orderly.

An exerpt from my interview with Author, fellow Disinfonaut and amazing beard-haver, Gabriel D. Roberts:

“… Let’s be honest, there’s a lot to hate, especially from fundamentalist perspectives… It’s hard to break out of it and once you do, you violently oppose it because you recognize that you were under a spell… I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t know where to go and directly from there, I went into a drug binge in which I was trying to bury my feelings… But, what I’ve found is whatever you want to call ‘God’ it’s much bigger than the things that are in these little books…”

You know those beautiful and rare occasions where you speak to someone for the first time and find that your personal philosophies seem to line up almost completely?  For me, Author and fellow Disinformation contributor Gabriel D.Read the rest

Criminals and Researchers: Perspectives on the Necessity of Underground Research

PIC: DMT NEXUS (C)

PIC: DMT NEXUS (C)

History has shown time and time again how innovative research and experimentation is sometimes deemed too radical for the current paradigm, so much so that it is shunned by the societal structures that fail to understand it, and in some cases even made highly illegal. Whether it was persecuting heretical alchemists and “witches”, indigenous people across the world holding rituals with plant medicines/teachers, or students nabbing cadavers from the cemetery at night in order to further their understanding of the human body, humanity is no stranger to these completely insane fear-based witch hunts. It’s no secret that the biggest witch hunt today goes by the name “The War on [some people who use certain] Drugs”.

David Nickles, an underground researcher who has presented novel information at major psychedelic conferences on behalf of the DMT-Nexus, elaborates on the need for underground research via The Nexian :

Shortly after presenting on behalf of the DMT-Nexus at the Psychedemia conference at the University of Pennsylvania, in September 2012, I was interviewed by a Harvard Graduate student for a paper he was writing.
