Evil Santa’s Crimes Against Humanity

Robert Anton WilsonScience fiction writer Robert Anton Wilson once researched all of Santa’s “Crimes Against Humanity.”

Jolly Ol’ St. Nick is guilty of more than just paganism, perjury, and trying to steal Christmas from Christ. “Pope John XXIII threw the suspiciously merry old clown out of the Roman Catholic church back in the late 1960s,” and “The Jehovah’s Witnesses have always denounced Santa for his unsavory pagan past. (They also recognized Christmas trees as phallic symbols long before Freud.)”

Santa also has “a rather criminal family history all around,” since he’s a descendant of the primordial bear-god. And in some rustic parts of Europe “and probably in Kansas, Santa retains traces of his carnivorous past. Children are told that if they are good all year, Santa will reward them, but if they are bad, he will EAT THEM ALL UP.”

Movie poster for the 2007 film 'The Number 23' starring Jim Carrey.

Disinfo.com editor’s note: This classic dossier by Dave “daev” Walsh was originally published on this site on Oct. 18, 2000.

Well, we don’t have any explanation. We’re not into saying, “This is why”. I don’t come to any conclusion. I simply think it’s interesting.

— Genesis P-Orridge, interview in ‘Tape Delay’ by Charles Neal, 1987.

The ’23 Enigma’, as discovered by William S. Burroughs, presents itself as a good omen for some — disaster for others. Trying to convey the phenomenon to the uninitiated is as easy as describing the night sky to someone who has been blind from birth.

When Burroughs was in Tangiers, he knew a Captain Clark who ran a ferry over to Spain. One day, Clark told Burroughs that he had been doing the route for 23 years without an accident. That day, the ferry sank … that evening, while Burroughs was thinking about the incident, a radio bulletin announced the crash of Flight 23 on the New York-Miami route.… Read the rest

Why The New World Order Will Fail

This YouTube video features the voices of Terence McKenna, Robert Anton Wilson and Noam Chomsky, with this description:
The New World Order is a catch-all phrase that is used by fear mongering propagandists to captivate people with dread. Too many people for too long have been put under a spell with feelings of hopelessness and despair by this fairy tale concept that there is a secret society or race of reptiles out there to get them and their children, and that they are succeeding at doing it. Please show this video to anyone you can to help break the spell of fear placed over those who wish to make this world a better place.

The Decline Of The U.S. As A World Power

Robert Anton WilsonJames Kanata starts off his essay the way every article here should: by citing Robert Anton Wilson! From Helium:

Robert Anton Wilson was perhaps the first to popularize the observation that during the history of human civilization, power and money has always moved west. From the beginnings of civility in Sumer to modern day China, there has always been a westward flow of technology, money, power and manufacturing capacity. In the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution, we witnessed the flow of influence from the Vatican to Britain, an empire on which it was said that the sun never set. As Britain’s power waned in the early 20th century, so the flow moved westwards to America. Now in the 21st century we have witnessed a further flow westwards towards East Asia. While America still holds most of the cards as the world’s richest economy, the focal point of industry and manufacture has long left its shores.

In The RAW: Necessary Heresies

[A vintage 1990s-era disinformation® essay-interview with Robert Anton Wilson by our former site editor, Alex Burns]

Author’s note: This interview was originally published in REVelation magazine (#13, Autumn, 1995): 36-40. The many lists of occult and New Age philosophers betrays its authors’ self-conscious youth: beginners often first learn discourse by referencing. I subsequently joined the Temple of Set in June 1996 after further correspondence with Dr. Michael A. Aquino and other Setians. This was also Robert Anton Wilson’s first interview by email. At least, I think it was RAW who replied, but I’m still not sure . . .

The paleolithism of the future (which for us, as mutants, already exists) will be achieved on a grand scale only through a massive technology of the Imagination, and a scientific paradigm which reaches beyond Quantum Mechanics into the realm of Chaos Theory & the hallucinations of Speculative Fiction.

Robert Anton Wilson: The Lost Studio Session

Robert Anton Wilson: The Lost Studio Session

[disinformation editor's note: typically we don't permit people to post stories that are just promoting a product, but as it's a rare recording of disinfo-fave Robert Anton Wilson, and it was unearthed by Joe Matheny (remember Ong's Hat?), we've made an exception.]

First recorded in Chicago in 1994, this previously unreleased audio session with the renowned Robert Anton Wilson has been stored away for fifteen years…and almost lost entirely. If Bob knew how many synchronicities surround the rediscovery and release of this “lost” studio session, he would be chuckling in that half jolly, half mischievous way of his. If you believe in any kind of afterlife, maybe you can imagine him laughing right now. I like that image: Bob the laughing Buddha, still having one over on us from the great beyond. Yarn Storming: Robert Anton Wilson Style!

Returning to the source?Ken Eakins of SittingNow.co.uk: "One of our Australian listeners, Jo (from Cambria), was so inspired by Robert Anton Wilson and Bob Shea's 'Illuminatus Trilogy', that he added a Fnordic twist to his yarn storming'":
“I’ve attached photos of my most recent knit graffiti. I tag my knit bombs with bright yellow tags — one side has an eye on top of a pyramid with a red line running through it (Anti-Illuminati) and the other side has a quote from Schrodinger’s Cat or Illuminatus!”
Now, I have to admit, this is the first case of ‘Yarn Storming’ I’ve ever encountered, so I rushed to YewTube and unearthed this expanatory morsel:
