Royal Babylon and the Power of the Monarchy

Via Orwellwasright

The British press can always be counted on to mask the depradations of the royal family – after all, they’re a national treasure who bring in much-needed revenue through tourism, right? Not quite. While David Icke might refer to them as shape-shifting lizards, others see them as parasites, leeching public money to maintain their palaces, country retreats and lavish lifestyles.

Of course, when the Queen gets the shits and has to spend a couple of days in her Freemasonic hospital, we can rely on the BBC and the Daily Mail to litter their screens and pages with endless coverage of this non-event; as for the thousands of “ordinary people” dying under the failing NHS – a system the Queen is quite happy to assist in the dismantling of – the same media is largely silent. Upon her release she was unfit to perform her public duties, but nevertheless found the time to sign the Commonwealth Charter, ensuring the interests of the realm continued to be protected.… Read the rest

How Does the British Monarchy Get Away with It?

“Power does what it wants. [...] Forget the politicians, they’re an irrelevancy. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Was Staffed By Unpaid Workers Who Slept Under London Bridge

Talk about a symbolic event. The Guardian on the public pageant held earlier this month along the Thames River celebrating Britain’s Royal Family:

Jobseekers were taken to London by coach from Bristol, Bath and Plymouth as part of the government’s Work Programme. They had to camp under London Bridge the night before the pageant, had to change in public, had no access to toilets for 24 hours, and were taken to a swampy campsite outside London after working a 14-hour shift in the pouring rain on the banks of the Thames on Sunday.

Close Protection UK confirmed that it was using up to 30 unpaid staff and 50 apprentices, who were paid £2.80 an hour, for the three-day event in London.

Royal WeddingHe says they are putting together a “shock and awe” campaign. “It will involve a lot of fireworks, it will involve a lot of people dressed in black, it will involve a lot of very, very loud music to try and hack all the mainstream media broadcasts of that day.” CNN reports:

London, England (CNN) — “God Save the Queen … the fascist regime,” sang The Sex Pistols to mark Queen Elizabeth’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. Now, Britain’s anarchists are targeting the royals again.

According to one leading anarchist protester, plans are being drawn up for a demonstration using “shock and awe” tactics to disrupt Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton on April 29.

Charlie Veitch, a former City banker who was made redundant during the financial crisis, heads a group of colorful protesters called the “Love Police Academy.” He says that anarchists will put on a “disruption spectacular.”

“As an anarchist, philosophical and political anarchist, I cannot support the royal family, I cannot support this government’s actions,” he said.
