British Teen Photographs Mysterious Apelike Creature In Public Park

A case of confusion? A hoax? Or the emergence of a new, adorable little cousin to Sasquatch? The Telegraph reports:

Terri Leigh Cox, 17, says that she saw something hunched over and bounding around on all fours from her bedroom window in Dorchester, Dorset, and took a photograph of it on her mobile phone. The teenager said that the park’s visitor, which she insisted was not a dog or cat, then ran up a tree and out of sight. Shaun Bessant, her boyfriend, went out to investigate but found no sign of the “monkey–like” creature.

Miss Cox said: “It was definitely a monkey because you could tell by its hunched back and the way it scampered across the field and up the tree…It could have escaped if someone was keeping it as a pet.”

The park is about 10 miles from the Monkey World attraction in Wool. A spokesman for Monkey World said that all of its monkeys and apes were accounted for.

Bigfoot DNA Hunters Push For Yeti Rights

Via Discovery News, a social movement is born:

A team of researchers led by Melba Ketchum, a Texas veterinarian, claims to have not only conclusively proven the existence of Bigfoot through genetic testing, but also that the mysterious monster is a half-human hybrid, the result of mating with modern human females about 15,000 years ago.

Ketchum sees her research as an important first step in obtaining legal status for Bigfoot, which she believes are an undiscovered Native American population. Ketchum issued a statement demanding that the “Government at all levels must recognize them as an indigenous people and immediately protect their human and Constitutional rights against those who would see in their physical and cultural differences a ‘license’ to hunt, trap, or kill them.”

Ketchum believes that “The Sasquatch people are more like us than they are different. The Sasquatch people have their own language, traditions, and rituals.”

Bigfoot’s Grave For Sale In Oregon

Never forget—Bigfoot allegedly perished in the disastrous 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens. Now you can buy the spot where remains may lie. Oregon’s Willamette Week reports:

A real estate offer too good to exist: The owners of the defunct roadside attraction North Fork Survivors Gift Shop—which memorializes the 1980 explosion of Mount St. Helens and the subsequent death of Bigfoot—are selling their property.

The cost to own the gift shop, a 28-foot concrete Bigfoot statue, and a buried A-frame house swamped in flowing Mount St. Helens ash? Just $270,000, and they’ll throw in nine acres, a 1,120-square-foot house, restrooms, and a helicopter landing pad.

The tourist site, which honored the possible demise of Sasquatch by erecting the giant grinning statue, is located along Spirit Lake Highway in Toutle, Wash., less than 60 miles from Portland.

Purported Bigfoot DNA Sample Just Black Bear

"Well, I do have big feet", said the bear.

In news that will probably shock just about no one, Dr. Melba Ketchum’s controversial Bigfoot DNA results have not been replicated under independent examination.

Cryptomundo’s Guy Edwards reports:

It was a sample from Justin Smeja who claimed he had killed two Bigfoot, known as the “sierra kills” or “bigfoot steak” sample. For many the story of killing Bigfoot was anecdotal at best and the DNA results were anxiously anticipated.

Independently a few Bigfooters took the same samples to Canada’s most respected forensic DNA labs at Trent University. The samples came back with two DNA results; a female black bear and human (from the person who had handled it).

Is Bigfoot in the Process of Becoming Real?

Bigfoot research reminds me of string theory. Like string theory, Bigfoot research is all based on inferences drawn from a pretty small data set, and as we observe these inferences, the creature seems to takes on a life of its own.

In many ways, string theory resembles a very esoteric form of philosophy rather than objective empirical science, but it may help make sense of the world. There is an aspect of it that is very creative. In a particular line of thinking, studying string theory is like creating reality. According to the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum physics, without a mind to observe it, “reality” remains in the realm of possibility as quantum superposition, collapsing into the real by the act of measuring.

Like the wise sage Mitch Hedberg once said “I think Bigfoot is blurry. That’s the problem“, but Bigfoot seems to become more real all the time as our minds have a chance to get our heads around him.… Read the rest

Montana Man Struck And Killed While Attempting To Create Bigfoot Sighting

A man who was apparently trying to provoke reports of a Bigfoot sighting in northwestern Montana was struck by two cars and killed, authorities said. Flathead County officials identified the man as Randy Lee Tenley, 44, of Kalispell.

The man was wearing a military-style “Ghillie suit” consisting of strips of camouflage fabric and was standing in the right-hand lane of a highway south of Kalispell on Sunday night when he was hit by the first car, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. A second car hit the man as he lay in the roadway, authorities said.

“He was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting,” trooper Jim Schneider told the Daily Inter Lake newspaper on Monday.

Stick-swinging Bigfoot Footage from Ohio the Real Deal? Probably Not.

Cryptomundo recently posted the following video depicting a supposed Bigfoot encounter on a trail in Northeast Ohio. While I’m almost one hundred percent that the Sasquatch is a creature of myth, I am intrigued by the way that the video was set up. If you look carefully at the slowed down footage you’ll notice that the “creature” is carrying a large stick. It would seem that if you were to go through all of the trouble to stage a Bigfoot encounter that you wouldn’t throw in an oddball detail like that. Then again, if you were especially clever, you might want to throw in the stick just to make people think just that.
