South Park Sued For ‘What What (In The Butt)’ Parody

South Park ParodyYou have to love the way that Trey Parker and Matt Stone keep getting themselves into legal trouble for the scripts of South Park. Keep up the good work gentlemen! From the Hollywood Reporter:

Less than a month after South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker were forced to apologize for lifting material for a spoof of Inception from the website CollegeHumor, the show is again facing accusations of content theft. The producers of the animated hit, including Viacom and Comedy Central, are being sued for allegedly ripping off a copyrighted music video for the viral phenomenon What What (In the Butt).

The Daily Show on Obama’s “Wisdom” in the “Ground Zero Mosque” Media Circus

Jon Stewart is a Stormtrooper "Yes we can ... but should we?" — Jon Stewart Politics is often defined as the "art of the possible." However it should also be defined as "you can't please all the people all the time." Especially the ones being idiots on the "ground zero mosque" media shitstorm. Thankfully The Daily Show's Jon Stewart (who recently George Lucas made a Stormtrooper) is on the money again about President Obama's mixed public comments regarding this non-story. I could not complete this post without mentioning the great Jon Oliver's commentary: "There is a difference, Jon, between what you can do and what you should do. You can build a Catholic Church next to a playground. Should you?"

Everybody Draw Muhammad Day! Threat

Everybody Draw Muhammad Day! cartoon by Molly Norris

"Everybody Draw Muhammad Day!" cartoon by Molly Norris

“Everybody Draw Muhammad Day” is a satirical cartoon that Molly Norris had drawn in response to the censorship of South Park’s episode featuring Muhammad.

With constant threats sent to artists who have depicted images of Muhammad, Norris is no exception. Anwar al-Awlaki ranted in Inspire, an English-language Al Queda magazine, about the potentially fatal results if such artists continue to draw blasphemous caricatures.

He has most recently added Norris to hit list. The NY Daily News details:

A CHARISMATIC terror leader linked to the botched Times Square car bomb has placed the Seattle cartoonist who launched “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day” on an execution hit list.

Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki — the radical who has also been cited as inspiring the Fort Hood, Texas, massacre and the plot by two New Jersey men to kill US soldiers — singled out artist Molly Norris as a “prime target,” saying her “proper abode is hellfire.”

FBI officials have notified Norris and warned her they consider it a “very serious threat.”

In an English-language Al-Queda magazine that calls itself “Inspire,” Awlaki damns Norris and eight others for “blasphemous caricatures” of the Prophet Muhammad The other cartoonists, authors and journalists in Awlaki’s cross hairs are Swedish, Dutch and British citizens.

From the Onion. Yeah, that Onion, so progressives please try to remember where you left your sense of humor:

LEXINGTON, MA — Describing himself as “terribly exhausted,” famed linguist and political dissident Noam Chomsky said Monday that he was taking a break from combating the hegemony of the American imperialist machine to try and take it easy for once.

“I just want to lie in a hammock and have a nice relaxing morning,” said the outspoken anarcho-syndicalist academic, who first came to public attention with his breakthrough 1957 book Syntactic Structures. “The systems of control designed to manufacture consent among a largely ignorant public will still be there for me to worry about tomorrow. Today, I’m just going to kick back and enjoy some much-needed Noam Time.”

“No fighting against institutional racism, no exposing the legacies of colonialist ideologies still persistent today, no standing up to the widespread dissemination of misinformation and state-sanctioned propaganda,” Chomsky added.

Transcript of the Forthcoming Sean Hannity/Sarah Palin interview

On the firstchurchofmutterhals blog:

Don’t say I never gave you nothing. Guess who got her hot little hands on the Sean Hannity/Sarah Palin interview that hasn’t even happened yet? Don’t tell anyone, but back in the 80s I gave a lap dance to Stephen Hawking and as a reward for my sultry moves he offered me use of his time machine. Behold!

***
Sean Hannity: First of all I’d like to say that you are the second coming of Christ.

Sarah Palin: Oh gee thanks, it’s citizens like you that make me proud of this our land of freedom and bravery in the country we call the American States.

SH: If the Virgin Mary walked into this room and shat in the corner, it would not rival the profundity and pureness of your being. I would allow myself to be buried alive with your corpse, if my producer deemed it necessary…
