Bizarre BDSM Fetish Stamps Of Kyrgyzstan

In an alternate universe, the stamps used to mail your rent check or a holiday card to relatives feature scenes of erotic domination rather than the national flag or first president. That alternate universe is called Kyrgyzstan. Vintage Sleaze was pleased to note stamps issued by the former Soviet republic featuring the work of mid-20th-century S&M-themed adult comics artist Eric Stanton:

Harmless Kitsch? Repulsive Misogyny? Allen Jones’ S&M Furniture

Check out this cringe-inducing (or chuckle-inducing, YMMV) collection of furniture made of female mannequins in bondage gear at Juxtapoz. The furniture was the work of British pop artist Allen Jones.

You may know Jones’ work from Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. The sculptor’s work decorated the interior of the Korova Milkbar.

Jones’ work was recently explored in a short documentary titled Allen Jones: Women and Men, of which you can view three or so minutes here:

1970’s Era S&M Dungeon Unearthed in Kentucky

Aren’t archaeology and “history” fascinating?

I don’t see how the identity of the owners is going to remain secret for long, though, as property tax assessments are part of the public record.  Keep an eye out for some interesting revelations about Grammie and Gramps in the coming months.  From Joe Arnold of WHAS11:

LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS11) — The mystery of an underground sadomasochism club continued to unravel on Tuesday after WHAS11 News aired images of what work crews discovered during Whiskey Row stabilization efforts.

Judging by the state of decay in the collapsing buildings, demolition crews had estimated the club dated to the 1970’s, but e-mails and posts to WHAS11’s Facebook and Twitter accounts reflect a  more recent sadistic history.

A former founding member told WHAS11 that LATEX, short for Louisville Area Trust EXchange, was in operation in the mid to late 1990’s with close to 1,000 dues paying members.
