The other day I got yet another question about the nature of sex magick on the Facebooks (friend me) and it occurred to me, you know, if I had a quick guide I could refer these people to that’d make my life easier, and hell, not everyone’s going to ask me questions on Facebook (or follow me on twitter @Thad_McKraken) so I might as well just get it out there. As a matter of fact, I actually directed this person to an article Jason Louv just did on the topic, but I’m not super comfortable with that either, mainly because I completely rejected a lot of the supposed fundamentals of that protocol regarding sigil design years ago. I didn’t choose magick, magick chose me (long story and you’ll have to wait for my book), and maybe a part of the reason magick chose me is because I’d revise the narrative on the subject of what sex magick is and what it does.… Read the rest

No defense benefits, eh? The British state media company (a/k/a BBC News) reports on why the country’s MoD decided to close its UFO desk giving examples of ridiculous reports (see letter at right). Who knows what the real reasons are, but something about this explanation doesn’t quite ring true to me…

The Ministry of Defence closed its UFO desk because it served “no defence purpose” and was taking staff away from “more valuable defence-related activities”, newly released files show.
The desk was closed in December 2009 despite a surge in reported sightings.
The disclosure came in National Archives files relating to reports of UFOs – Unidentified Flying Objects – between 2007 and November 2009.
They show UFOs were reported at several UK landmarks, including Stonehenge.
The latest tranche of declassified files covers the final two years of work carried out by the MoD’s UFO desk.
The 25 files include reports alleging contact with aliens and UFO sightings near UK landmarks, and detail the decision to close the MoD’s dedicated desk and “hotline”.

A private security guard was destined to have one of the most bizarre, and outright terrifying, encounters with extraterrestrial beings ever recorded.
On the frigid, moonless night of December 6th, 1978, a 26 year-old night watchman, husband and father of two named Pier Zanfretta was on a routine patrol in the village of Torriglia, when he stumbled into a horrifying encounter with creatures from beyond our world that would forever change his life.
According to Zanfretta’s report, he was negotiating the dangerously icy roads in his patrol car, en route to the currently unoccupied country home of a client, Dr. Ettore Righi, when the engine, radio and lights of his vehicle all simultaneously, and inexplicably, died.
It was at that moment that Zanfretta claimed to have seen four lights moving around in the garden of the Righi house. Assuming that the strange beams were emanating from the flashlights of would-be thieves, Zanfretta quietly climbed out of his car with his revolver and flashlight at the ready.

Close encounters of the Scientology kind:
Pilots aboard three passenger planes in the vicinity of London’s Gatwick Airport late last year reported seeing a pair of “flat, silver discs” hovering near the UK headquarters of the Church of Scientology.
Air traffic controllers also said that they saw six UFOs on radar screens before the objects disappeared, according to a report issued last week by the UK’s Airprox Board.
The board examines reports of air traffic safety violations in UK airspace and recommends safety measures. Last week’s report failed to find an explanation for the pilot sightings from last Dec. 30 at about 9 a.m. It did describe how a Boeing 777 pilot raised the alarm at 8:53 a.m. after spotting “two flat silver discs”over the Scientology headquarters in East Grinstead minutes from touchdown at Gatwick.

Capitalism has no interest in UFOs and, as such, makes no research into them. It has no interest in occupying itself with these matters because they cannot reap profits, nor are they useful to capitalism. But people see in UFOs the possibility of advancement and progress. This thus accelerates the fall of the bourgeoisie, shown in all its uselessness.
All the people who say that they have seen extra-terrestrials, UFOs, coincide in the fact that these beings have not frightened them, and that they have made themselves understood, without using an audible language, showing them that they mean no harm. They do not provoke a feeling of alarm, but of serenity. They create sensations of mellowness, suppleness, harmony, reassurance.
It is possible that the increase doesn’t mean the are more objects in the sky, but instead reflects people’s shifting relations to technology, superstition, and their surroundings. The Toronto Sun writes:
UFO sightings in Canada are at an all-time high, according to Canadian sky-gazers. The annual report from Ufology Research documented 1,981 UFO sightings in Canada in 2012, more than double 2011′s record 986.
While 40% of Canada’s UFOs were spotted in Ontario, every province save Saskatchewan and P.E.I. saw mysterious lights or objects in the sky.
Among Ufology Research’s theories on the growing phenomenon: “More secret or classified military exercises and overflights are occurring over populated areas; more people are unaware of the nature of conventional or natural objects in the sky; more people are able to report their sightings with easier access to the Internet and portable technology; or even that the downturn in the economy is leading to an increased desire by some people to look skyward for assistance.”
Let’s face it. Magick does in fact have a lot to do with the manipulation of linguistics and how those manipulations transform internal states of consciousness, at least how I practice it (friend me on Facebook for updates). It is funny though because in this day and age I sometimes feel almost dated as a writer, and admittedly that’s why I also create in a lot of other mediums. With the increasing intricacy of video game enchantments, mobile synthetic telepathy, and easily accessible drugs, sitting down and reading a book can seem sort of old school truthfully. Then I remember how nearly all of my thoughts are derivatively running through the operating system of the English language and the importance feels more profound than ever. When you get down to it a lot of meditational practices, like say transcendental meditation (which I still do near daily) involve little more than intentionally forcing your mind to redirect its traditional infrastructure or moreover, not thinking in words.… Read the rest
On June 30, 1908, something exploded over an isolated region of Siberia. Theories abound over what that something could have been, with explanations both prosaic (meteorite or comet) and preposterous (UFO crash, one of Tesla’s experiments gone wrong) offered over the years since that mysterious event. While I personally love the idea of a UFO crash, it turns out that scientists working with the Russian Academy of Science may have turned up the first solid proof that a meteorite may have been the actual culprit:

In the 1930s, an expedition to the region led by the Russian mineralogist Leonid Kulik returned with a sample of melted glassy rock containing bubbles. Kulik considered this evidence of an impact event. But the sample was somehow lost and has never undergone modern analysis. As such, there is no current evidence of an impact in the form of meteorites.
That changes today with the extraordinary announcement by Andrei Zlobin from the Russian Academy of Sciences that he has found three rocks from the Tunguska region with the telltale characteristics of meteorites.

Former Sen. Mike Gravel (D-Alaska) says the White House has helped keep the truth about the “extraterrestrial influence that is investigating our planet” from the public: “It goes right to the White House…it just goes down the chain of command, everyone stands toe.”
Gravel is one of six former congressional representatives who were paid by the UFO advocacy group Paradigm Research to participate in a Congressional-style Citizen Hearing on Disclosure in Washington this week, where witness after witness presented first-hand accounts of UFO sightings and extraterrestrial visits.
Gravel says the strongest accounts of alien encounters are from former military officers, such as retired Air Force Capt. Robert Salas, who testified that UFOs temporarily disabled nuclear weapons on his watch.
