Teen Arrested For Craigslist Honeymoon Thrill Murder Claims She Has Killed 22 People Since Joining A Satanic Cult At Age 13

barbourCould Miranda Barbour be the next iconic serial killer? CNN reports:

19-year-old Barbour told a reporter for the Daily Item in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, that she participated in at least 22 killings in the past six years in Alaska, Texas, North Carolina and California. “When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” Barbour is quoted as saying in a phone interview on Friday night. “I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them.”

A law enforcement source close to the investigation said Miranda Barbour’s new claims could be “the real deal.”

Barbour told the newspaper she had her first experience with killing when she just 13, shortly after she said she joined a satanic cult in Alaska.

Barbour and her husband, Elytte Barbour, 22, are accused of luring Troy LaFerrara, 42, through a “companionship” ad on Craigslist, and stabbing and strangling him to death. The couple, married for only three weeks at the time of the slaying, just wanted to kill someone together, police said.

Matriarchy? Patriarchy? (Answer: Kyriarchy)

Mary_SpearFrom psychologist Alice Miller’s website:

From: Duncan Mcdermott

Alice,

When I was a little boy I was beaten by men and women. Teachers, parents, friends of my parents, parents of other little boys – just about any adult – would beat me or slap me around casually, sometimes raging with fury, other times just kind of happy slapping for jesus.

Generally I found the men easier to predict, they didn’t seem so outwardly angry as the women. Women hit less often than men, but, and this is a very big but, men usually beat as a result of women’s insistence. Without this virulent insistence I might have been beaten much less.

The school I attended from the age of three up to eleven when I went to the all-male high school, were matriarchies. At times they had a headmaster, but a headmistress was much more usual. They had only two or three male teachers, all the rest were women.Where I went to school in South Africa, Natal School Regulations forbade the striking of ‘any girl’ in any circumstances.

“Demon Assassin” Women Stabbed Two Toddlers To Death In Maryland Exorcism

demonA mixture of exorcism and insanity leads to a bone-chilling crime, the Washington Post reports:

The Montgomery County mother accused of stabbing her four young children during a bloody exorcism — killing two of them — believed that demonic spirits were jumping from one child to the next and that she had to keep attacking them, a Montgomery County prosecutor said in court Tuesday.

Avery and 21-year-old Monifa Sanford claimed to be part of a four-person group called the “Demon Assassins,” with Avery having the title of “commander” and Sanford “sergeant.”

During the stabbings, the women would later tell detectives, they saw the children’s eyes turn black and a black cloud over one of the children. At one point, they said, the spirits jumped inside of Sanford.

The hearings for each woman underscored how the case appears to be a jumble of belief in demonic possession laced with some level of mental illness.

Outrage As California Police Acquitted For Beating Mentally Ill Homeless Man To Death

kelly thomasIt’s scarcely believable that the officers got off for this, given the gruesome video footage of events as they unfolded. ThinkProgress writes:

Two former police officers in Orange County, CA were acquitted of murder Monday for beating a schizophrenic homeless man, Kelly Thomas, to death. After watching a harrowing video showing Manuel Ramos and Jay Cicinelli, along with other officers, brutalizing Thomas, the jury [found] the two men not guilty.

In July 2011, the Fullerton cops came upon the 37-year-old schizophrenic taking some letters out of a trashcan and started beating him with a taser and a baton. The entire encounter was caught on a nearby security camera. As the officers hit him, Thomas begged for help and called out for his father.

Cicinelli arrived later, tasing Thomas with a stun gun and then struck him across the face with it hard enough to break several bones. “I just probably smashed his face to hell,” he says on the video.

Hammer-And-Bible-Wielding Oklahoma Man “Doing The Lord’s Work” Tasered Four Times In Arrest

taseredIs there anything a hammer and a bible can’t fix? The Tahlequah Daily Press reports:

Police say a 33-year-old Tahlequah man wielding a hammer and a Bible had to be electrocuted with a taser four times Saturday when he held another man in a headlock and claimed he was “doing the Lord’s work.”

Mitchell D. Hummingbird was being held Monday at the Cherokee County Detention Center with a $35,000 bond.

According to Deputy Michael Cates, the deputy asked Hummingbird to drop the hammer, but Hummingbird refused and continued holding onto the victim by the neck.

Deputies said Hummingbird apparently felt he was trying to “save” the victim. He was also under the influence of some substance, and had to seek treatment before he could be booked into jail.

Violent Criminals: Terrible Twos Who Stay Terrible?

Picture: Marc Majcher (CC)

New research findings claim that violent criminals are basically overgrown babies, or someone whose neural pathways have strong connections with the emotional–territorial circuit on the Eight-circuit model of consciousness.

Via The New York Times

To understand the violent criminal, says Richard E. Tremblay, imagine a 2-year-old boy doing the things that make the terrible twos terrible — grabbing, kicking, pushing, punching, biting.

Now imagine him doing all this with the body and resources of an 18-year-old.

You have just pictured both a perfectly normal toddler and a typical violent criminal as Dr. Tremblay, a developmental psychologist at University College Dublin in Ireland, sees them — the toddler as a creature who reflexively uses physical aggression to get what he wants; the criminal as the rare person who has never learned to do otherwise.

In other words, dangerous criminals don’t turn violent. They just stay that way.

meat

An officer whose goal is to serve you. ABC News reports:

A German police officer may have seduced and murdered a man he met on a cannibalism fetish website. The suspect has been arrested.

Police on Wednesday found body parts on a property in the Ore Mountains that, according to German tabloid Bild, came from a murder carried out as part of a cannibal fetish act. The body parts are believed to belong to a 59-year-old man from Hanover, while the main suspect, who owns the property on which the remains were found, is a 55-year-old police officer.

The suspect allegedly invited the man to his property in Reichenau, a small town in the mountains. The victim had been cut into many small pieces some time in early November and many parts of the victim have yet to be found, leading to suspicions part of his body may have been eaten.

THE BATTLE LINES OF TODAY’S DEBATES OVER GUN CONTROL, STAND-YOUR-GROUND LAWS, AND OTHER VIOLENCE-RELATED ISSUES WERE DRAWN CENTURIES AGO BY AMERICA’S EARLY SETTLERS

Last December, when Adam Lanza stormed into the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, with a rifle and killed twenty children and six adult staff members, the United States found itself immersed in debates about gun control. Another flash point occurred this July, when George Zimmerman, who saw himself as a guardian of his community, was exonerated in the killing of an unarmed black teenager, Trayvon Martin, in Florida. That time, talk turned to stand-your-ground laws and the proper use of deadly force. The gun debate was refreshed in September by the shooting deaths of twelve people at the Washington Navy Yard, apparently at the hands of an IT contractor who was mentally ill.

Confessions of an American Drone Pilot

confessions-of-a-drone-warrior-gq-magazine-november-2013-02Chilling stuff from GQ. A drone pilot recalls his experiences as a member of America’s secretive drone program.

He kept the targeting laser trained on the two lead men and stared so intently that each individual pixel stood out, a glowing pointillist dot abstracted from the image it was meant to form. Time became almost ductile, the seconds stretched and slowed in a strange electronic limbo. As he watched the men walk, the one who had fallen behind seemed to hear something and broke into a run to catch up with the other two. Then, bright and silent as a camera flash, the screen lit up with white flame.

Airman First Class Brandon Bryant stared at the scene, unblinking in the white-hot clarity of infrared. He recalls it even now, years later, burned into his memory like a photo negative: “The smoke clears, and there’s pieces of the two guys around the crater.
