Woman Pepper Sprays Shoppers To Get Xbox

walmartNBC Los Angeles reports on some Black Friday action. Over the past two months, in our society, pepper spraying anyone, anytime to get what you want has become completely normalized:

A customer shot pepper spray at other customers at a busy Northridge Wal-Mart store late Thursday night, causing minor injuries to at least 10 people who had been waiting hours for Black Friday savings, according to Los Angeles firefighters and a police lieutenant. The Associated Press later reported 20 injuries.

A witness told NBC4 that the incident started as people waited in line for the new Xbox 360. The witness said a woman with two children in tow became upset with the way people were pushing in line. The witness said she pulled out pepper spray and sprayed the other people in line.

It appeared only one person would need to be transported to a hospital for treatment.

Ticketmaster And Walmart To Join Forces In Unholy Union

tickets-001Two of our nation’s most noxious companies have teamed up to sell fee-laden, overpriced tickets to awful events via kiosk, Rolling Stone reports. Ticketmaster-Walmart surely is one of the nine circles of Corporate Hell:

“By integrating ticketing into Walmart stores, we are able to offer fans this very convenient way to learn about upcoming events, purchase and take home tickets without leaving their neighborhood,” Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard said in a statement. “In addition, Ticketmaster will continue to work closely with our clients to create exclusive high value offers for Walmart customers.”

Walmart has announced a deal with Ticketmaster to sell tickets to events via in-store video screens. Ticketing kiosks are being built into several of the big box chain’s store across the United States, which will allow customers to browse and purchase tickets for music, sports, theater and other events. The kiosks will only be partially self-serve, though, as a Walmart employee will be required to complete all transactions.

Jesus Appears On Walmart Receipt In South Carolina

OriginalThis is basically the essence of United States encapsulated in a single news story. CBS 21 reports:

An engaged couple in Anderson County says a shadowy image that turned up on a receipt from Walmart looks like the face of Jesus.

Jacob Simmons and his fiancee, Gentry Lee Sutherland, said they bought some pictures from Walmart on June 12. The following Wednesday, the couple had just come home from a church service when Simmons spotted the receipt on the floor of Sutherland’s apartment. He says the receipt had changed. “I was leaving the kitchen and I just looked on the floor, and it was like it was looking at me,” Simmons said.

A dark gray mark on the receipt seems to show two eyes, a nose and a mouth in a thickly bearded face. “Then the more you look at it, the more it looked like Jesus, and it was just shocking, breathtaking,” Simmons said.
